Training and Events survey

Our Defining Your Professional Future workshop held at Loughborough University in June was well attended. Carol Brooks posed a set of questions which resulted in thought provoking and lively discussions. Carol was asked to submit the resulting notes of the meeting as our contribution from the East Midlands to the overall project.

One of the issues raised, which was seems very relevant to the East Midlands Branch of CILIP, was the frequently expressed wish for local, affordable learning opportunities. As we are currently planning our Members’ Day for next year and other Branch events, we would like some information from yourselves which will help us organise events that are relevant for our members.

We would be grateful if you could take a few minutes to complete a short survey which is available at: https://spreadsheets.google.com/viewform?formkey=dFViR1dHaHUyd2tJQ1NxYk02NlJRMFE6MQ

or if you have problems with the link, the questions are below:

1. What topics would you like to see presented as learning opportunities?

2. Do you get offered training by your employer? Is this of a professional content or more general content?

3. How far would you be willing to travel for learning opportunities?

4. Are you willing to attend twilight opportunities e.g. a 5.30pm start?

5. If we have to charge for workshops/events how much do you think would be reasonable/affordable?

Could you please email responses to Honorary Secretary, East Midlands Branch of CILIP at emboc@bc-d.co.uk or click on “Submit” if you use the online form. We would like to be able to share these responses with Special Interest groups in the region as they may be more able to deliver some specialist learning events.

Thank you for your help and contribution – we hope we will be able to deliver some of the needs over the next few years.
